The Zit Zone
Arming teens against the acne enemy
Acne, pimples and zits most commonly affect teenagers ages between 13 and 18 years-old. Acne plagues individuals of all ages (yes adults too); however blackheads and whiteheads are most familiar to those going through puberty.
Acne can be very embarrassing and individuals who suffer from it are often self-conscious about the way they look. Pimples, also known as blemishes or zits, appear occasionally due to stress, hormones or a poor skin care regime. They usually don't last very long. Acne however, is a skin condition that describes an outbreak of pimples and zits that form in clusters and cover large areas of the face.
