Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Exfoliating is vital to healthy, fresh looking skin. Exfoliating gets the blood moving in your face and prepares it for toning. Although exfoliating is not a required step in the cleansing process, it contributes a great deal to the success of your facial.

If you'd like to make your own exfoliating facial scrub, but aren't quite sure how, here are a few tips and suggestions:
Sugar Sweet Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Mix one packet of sugar (preferably raw sugar) with a few drops of oil olive oil to make a spreading "paste". Gently smooth the sugar exfoliating scrub into the creases around your eyes. Rinse off with lukewarm water to leave your face feeling tingly and clean.
Oatmeal Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Mix one pack of instant oatmeal with water to create a paste. Once the paste is formed, dab the mixture onto your entire face. Let the mixture set for approximately 2 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.
Papaya Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Using a blender or food processor, mash a papaya. Smear the mash onto your face and leave for approximately 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
Honey Yogurt Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Mix 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar with ½ teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt. Smooth the mixture over your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off using lukewarm water.
- Never rub soap, lotions, oils or any other exfoliating mixture into your face. Your facial skin is very thin and sensitive. Rubbing pushes the skin upwards, downwards and side to side loosening it and causing wrinkles. Dabbing is a safer and more effective way to apply or rinse exfoliating mixtures.
- Never use hot water on your face. Hot water can burn the skin and dry it out very quickly. Using lukewarm to cool water to rinse your face will leave your skin feeling fresh and will clear any clogged pores.
- Exfoliating is most effective in the evening when the skin has had a chance to adapt to the atmosphere. In the morning, your skin can be stiff. Exfoliating will also feel more rewarding after a long day of work.
