Jergens Skin Care

JergensFor over one hundred years, Jergens products have been helping women of all ages attain smooth, soft and beautiful skin. Jergens first joined the soap-cosmetics industry as a small soap works manufacturer in 1882. The company was founded by Andrew Jergens Sr. and neighbor Charles H. Geilfus. Geilfus grew up and worked with Jergens in a small soap business in 1880, two years later he became Jergens' business partner.

The Andrew Jergens Company was originally named The Jergens Soap Company. Its original product was coconut oil soap. In 1901 Jergens purchased the John H. Woodbury Company; a very popular purveyor of Woodbury Facial Soap, and the Robert Eastman Company; who manufactured a line of creams and lotions. The union of three cosmetic corporations resulted in the making the original Jergens Lotion. If you're looking for older Jergen's products from a few years back and can't seem to find any, you may want to research the product online (or consult with a company representative) to make sure the products you're looking for aren't discontinued.

I live in Wyoming and have used Jergens liquid soap for years and I love it but now I cannot find it in any stores in this area. Can you tell me where I still can buy this wonderful soap?

Where can I find "Gee your hair smells terrific"? I saw that it is made oversees, but I'm not sure if it is a knockoff. Ever thought of bringing it back with all the baby boomers?

I'm also curious as to what stores sell Jergens bar soap. Here in KY it disappeared from the shelves of Wal-Mart, Kroger, Rite Aid, Target, and the "dollar stores" back in 2006-07 and we haven't been able to find it since. Not even when shopping out of state! According to some of the store employees at the stores above, they simply never received anymore shipments. Hopefully Jergens will realize they made a mistake by taking it off the shelves and bring it back.

As a teen-ager and young adult I enjoyed using Jergen's All Purpose Face Cream. As seems to happen with any product I really like, it seemed to disppear. I finally stopped looking for it. Imagine my surprise when many years later I happened upon it in a Staler Bros. Market in Carlabad, CA. I bought several jars to bring home. Then one day in Wall-Mart I fouond it again. I absolutely love this product. It goes on a bit greasy, but leaves my skin mosit and dewy. The icing on the cake is, it is reasonably priced. Thanks .Phyllis James

Hi! I have been using Jergens for many years. My mother started using it when she was young and is now over a 100years old. The new lotion is not nearly as good it used to be for, it is too thick and does not absorb as well also the pump is realy hard to use especially for anyone with problems with there hands I help seniors in a nursing home and have had to change to a different lotion so they can use the pumps better. Why a good product was change to a poorer product is hard to understand. Please go back to the old formula so we can start using the lotion again,Ihave had to change 25 people so far.Thank you Anonymous.

I am looking for 'Gee your hair smells terrific' shampoo. I don't know how to get in touch with the company to find WHO or IF any of the stores are still selling this product. I live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I am now willing to pay 'gouging' prices from e-Bay sellers. I want to find a store where I can buy this shampoo in 'bottle at a time' quantities. Can you help me? Anita in Nanaimo

Please advise where I may purchase your Jergens Extra Moisturizing Hand Wash in the Cherry Almond Scent. I simply love this product and can't seem to find it anymore. Has it been discontinued? If so, please, please reinstate it. Thanks so much, Lorna Gaultois, Apt. 1407, 2727 Princess St., Kingston, ON K7P 3K4

I completely agree with Laurie and Deanna. The Naturally smooth product was excellent. Now the only option is to pay gouging prices from e-bay sellers. Hey, Jergens management!! Put the product back in the market.

Why did Jergen's quit making the "Shave less often" lotion. It was a fabulous lotion for making the hair softer and easier to shave. Perhaps people considered it false advertising the way it sounded like a hair removal system, which it wasn't. Could you please remarket it with a different name which accurately represents that is softens the nubby hairs. I have never found any other lotion so effective. Thank you, Laurie Gower

Hello, I am happy to find your web site. I began using Dove beauty soap about 6 months ago. What an amazing find! I am approaching 66 years of age and I never expected to see such a nice change in my skin. I had a problem with blackheads which was a continuous battle. I don't fight that battle anymore. Thank you so very much. Dawne Hicks, 8041 Post Road, Niagara Falls, ON L2H 2L2
