Acne

The term acne is a Latin work that means "point" or "peak". Acne is an inflammatory skin disease caused by unusual changes in the hair follicles and associated sebaceous glands. When the skin's sebaceous glands produce excess "sebum" (an oily substance) the pores can become plugged, and outbreaks of pimples or zits occur.

Acne can affect humans at any age, but it's commonly most out of control during puberty when the body produces the male hormone testosterone rapidly and in excess. In addition to hormonal activity, stress, diet, taking certain medications and hygiene can all trigger acne as a result of the accumulation of dead skin cells, bacteria in the pores, skin irritations and high level of chlorine compounds. Maintaining a healthy diet and a consistent routine will help your skin look its best.

Zenmed worked wonders for my acne. Earlier I was using proactiv to treat my acne but I had a horrible experience within a month of using it and stopped and switched over to derma cleanse acne system. It's a must buy for relief from acne. Sabrina

Recipe: I can't remember the source, but here goes! 1 large apple (peeled, cleaned, and grated) 1/2 teaspoon of whipped cream 1 teaspoon of honey 1 tablespoon of oatmeal 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon Mix all ingredients until the mass starts looking like a paste. Apply on the face and leave on for 10 minutes. GENTLY rub the face to enhance the exfoliating properties of the oatmeal. Rinse off with cold water and gently dry off with a towel. Antiseptic qualities of this mask provide the skin with thorough cleansing, remove the dirt on the skin's surface, and clean the clogged pores.
